GreenWEDGE Cycling rider Don Macrae and his brother Douglas recently did an interesting ride into the High Country starting in Warrandyte, training it to Bairnsdale then up to Hotham via Swifts Creek and back to Warrandyte via Lake Buffalo and Alexandra.

Don put together a ride report on the journey that you may find of interest. I asked Don how he managed his kit for the ride and he told me all he took was a backpack with 7kg of kit plus an under-saddle pouch. He’s also provided a list of the kit he took.

Shane Miller on the Warrandyte Cycling TT

There’s no lack of events on tomorrow around Melbourne, this being one of them that I look forward to each year. A low-key 40km burst around some great roads that I first started ‘real’ cycling on.

Entry: Free
Electronic timing: Strava Cycling
Prizes: Yep

TT bikes allowed, not required (Veronica and I will be on roadies). Fast, slow, tall, short, $26 bike, $26,000 bike, everyone welcome…. Except recumbent riders, they’ll be sacrificed and thrown off the bridge into the Yarra….. for their own safety.
